I've owned this jacket for nearly 2 years, and while I really like the jacket, there are some design flaws that bring this down to a 3.5. First the pros. The leather is really beautiful, and as others have mentioned, it's hard to describe the color. It's a bit burgundy, but depending on the lighting, it can look black, brown, and reddish. It's a very heavy duty leather and it feels like a jacket that will easily last at least one lifetime. The build quality is also great, not a stitch out of place. I also prefer this aesthetic over the Schott icons, like the Perfecto. As for the cons, first off, the flannel lining is not very high quality. It began pilling within the first month or two of light wear. I expect this will need to be replaced with 2 or 3 years. The shape of the jacket is also a bit strange, the bottom width of the jacket is slightly wider than the top width so it's shaped almost more like a coat. To add to that, the side straps, even at their tightest, are flush against the jacket so there is no functional purpose for it. If you loosen it to any other ring, it just loops out awkwardly so you have no choice but to leave it at the tightest ring. Finally, the sleeve zippers, generally used for a looser fit, do not have a gusset. If you unzip it, the sleeve opens freely. I do still think it's a great jacket, but I wish these seemingly easy to fix things were addressed.
