This is an incredible jacket. The fit is great. I am 6’, 165 pounds, 38.5” chest, and the medium is a spot on fit. Snug enough for just a t-shirt, but can also wear a flannel or light sweatshirt (a pretty snug but doable). Note that the length is more old-school for the body, as the front hits my belt line, it’s perfect for riding. The back does have a slight drop, so overall it works very well. What is insane about this jacket is the leather. Very thick, but at the same time super comfortable and easily breaks in…not because the leather is buttery soft, it’s is a hearty leather that breaks in nicely. The patina is like nothing I have seen…quick to show high friction areas with the more brown patina showing through. Note that the color is called black but it is definitely more of a very dark brown. side gussets make it great for dialing in waist, as I have a 32” waist the ability to adjust more tight is essential. This jacket it the real deal. Love it.

The best fitting jacket I own!

Absolutely amazing jacket. I’m 5’7 with broad shoulders and the medium fits me great. The length is shorter and at my height it fits as it should. Like someone else said, it would’ve been nice if it came with a matching belt at this price point, but I can’t really complain. It has been my go-to since it arrived and I can’t really see anything else taking its place.

A New Favorite

I had no idea what teacore Aspen leather was all about. Upon first opening the package and trying on the jacket, I was a bit underwhelmed by the color. It is a flat dark brown, nearly black, with a pleasant organic horsehide texture but otherwise nearly featureless in tone. Obviously the new jacket is of a very stiff and unworked nature, so like I would with any leather article, I put it on and began moving. I went through a full set of light exercises, emphasizing elbow and shoulder movements out in the sun. Within 15 minutes, I looked in the mirror and noticed THE BEAUTIFUL HIGHLIGHTS beginning to appear at all of the crease marks and areas of friction. It's a bit surprising (and gratifying) to see such a quick! transformation. Normally the top color of your leather will provide some clue to the inner layers, being more of a gradient from a little darker to a bit lighter with age and work. In this case, the Horween Aspen teacore reminds of a pot full of the richest, murkiest black tea, into which cream of some type has been poured but not yet stirred. The jacket style itself is the classic Perfecto. No complaints, besides the lack of a matching teacore Aspen belt, which, let's be honest, for the list price should have been included. I also wish to god they would make the waist narrower or a bit longer or both on this particular style. Even with the addition of tie straps on either side, if you have a narrow waist and wide shoulders, your arms and chest will be snug as a bug on a cold day while your lower back and belly will be swinging in the breeze. This complaint is more of a nitpick though, as I live in southern California and rarely need to dress for freezing weather. All-in-all a great and worthy leather jacket from Schott, well built and comfortable. I can't wait to break it in by roaming around through the chaparral, scratching and scuffing the finish and revealing layer upon layer of that lustrous patina red gold that we dig for. I wonder, can I so bruise, bend, and burnish this jacket that I end up with the black tea only at the edges?? We will see!

Fits perfecto :-)

The jacket is beautifully crafted and has a cool color. The leather is quite heavy and stiff. Hopefully, that will change with frequent wear.

Chips style jacket

Great jacket in all respects however size is grossly underrated. I’ve bought several 2XL jacket from Schott they fit perfectly however this one was cut way too small ??I’m writing this just as an FYI

Not sized appropriately

What’s up yall. Long time Schott enthusiast here.
There are many things I like about this jacket, including the weight, the color, various features, and the overall design. This jacket has a perfect weight to it, and the color is beautiful. Not quite black nor brown. I love the kidney panel and the side gussets. I am usually a size medium. If it is a short cut I size up to a large but at times the hips are too wide. The lace gussets are a neat feature which allows for customization in terms of how the hips fit.
In a size large, this jacket fit me *perfectly* in the shoulders and chest but was too large in the hips. The lace gussets fixed my prior qualms regarding hips being too big.
I am 32 years old, and usually rock skinny jeans. At times I tuck my shirt in with a pair of higher rise jeans for a more….. adult look with some classic styles.
Here is my issue with this jacket:
Wearing my highest rise pants, with my shirt tucked in, the front of this jacket is inches above my belt line. It just looks ridiculous. I am going to cry myself to sleep because I will have to return this jacket.
